Surprised no GDT yet. But Snitker is on his way to tying Bobbys career ejection number

That was an awful call and even worse no overturn on the review. Bonofacio was clearly safe at the plate

Not only was he safe but d'Arnaud blocked the plate without the ball. Of course, when the review crew is from New York what do you expect?

Yep, the Braves took a screwing there.

Let's see. Large market team falls into a tailspin, threatening to fall out of the playoff race before July. Replay officials, located in that same large market city, blow an obvious replay call on two counts. It's like MLB is taking cues from the NBA and the SEC.

That replay call was inexcusable. Bonifacio was safe anyway, but the plate was clearly blocked before the catcher had the ball. If the replay reviewers in NY don't care about getting the call right, the whole thing should be scrapped. In NY, getting the call right took a backseat to helping the Mets win tonight.

TBH, I thought it was too close to overturn. The beef about the umpire positioning was very fair. Beef about him blocking the plate I thought was fair. But seemed too close on the tag to overturn. Was surprised to see the extent to which Joe went off the deep end.

It seemed to me that when Boni slid into the catcher it knocked the catcher's glove into Boni's hip before he got to home plate. Maybe too close to overturn. But he was also clearly blocking the plate so it should have been overturned for that alone.

It was a close play, but no closer than the bunt play immediately before that where Peterson was correctly called out.

This is the best angle I can find on Twitter. Too close to overturn. Also, thank you Adonis!

However they said that the catcher was not blocking the plate and there WAS clear and convincing evidence he was tagged out before getting to the plate. That's not true

Show the frame where D'Arnaud's knee is down before he caught the ball. The plate was clearly blocked. The call was blown and then reblown. At least Adonis saved the night...so far.

After watching this replay system for some time now, I'm okay with the caution used in overturning calls on the field. I just wish there was a time limit. 90 seconds or so. I'd like to see fewer replays, and a system that incents teams to only ask for a review when there is a clear case to overturn. These replays of a bang-bang play that take 4 minutes are just crazy. If you can't overturn in 90 seconds, take off the headset and move on.

I just can't believe New York said the tag was clear and definitive. If so, why a 5 min review? If it's so clear, should've been bout 30 seconds
