GDT: Cards Vs Braves 4/9

I'm kind of harped on this a bit. But not only are we unbalanced in the pen (with just one lefty) but our bench is unbalanced too, so that when Kelly is in the lineup we won't have a left-handed pinch hitter. Though Inciarte is technically available today I suppose.

I guess the front office lost its copy of Roster Construction 101. Or put tucked it away someplace in the appendix of The Great American Rebuild: Making Atlanta Great Again.
 
I thought the point of signing Flowers was giving him the full time gig and seeing what he could do this year offensively and defensively. . It looks like he is in a platoon through four game and Fredi has dipped into theAJ well far too many times. The magic is gone.
 
didn't I read here that Frediot said the catching duty is not a strick platoon, but whoever is hitting better..(should be playing not hitting).. did I miss something or did Flowers look better both offensively and defensively last night.. truth be told a flower could have looked better behind the plate than AJ.. just stick a flower in a pot and it has about as much of a chance to catch a throw as AJ does..
 
They are attempting to load up on left handed bats against CarMa tonight.
His numbers support that idea from last season too. Biggest thing I saw was the difference in his strikeout-walk ratio. 4.20 against RHB and 2.08 against LHB.

Just because you are harping on it doesn't mean you are wrong. Some odd choices in the final roster construction both with the bats and with the pitching.
 
AJ behind the plate is a joke, runner goes and AJ misses the ball off his glove. Flowers is night and day better, looks like an all-star catcher framing pitches compared to AJ, lol.
