If Mac is our target

Does Sanchez blowing up (1.109 ops entering tonight and 2 hr's in tonight's game) help us acquiring mac? Could we perhaps send flowers and a decent prospect? Flowers would be a good veteran catcher to help out Sanchez

I doubt it. They pretty much said that Mac is not going to be the main catcher going forward.

I think the Yankees are planning on Sanchez and Romine being their two catchers next year. I don't think they would place any great value on getting Flowers.

Screw it then... give em inciarte and Folty haha

So if they're set at catcher, you think mac's price tag drops?

I think Mac is essentially going to be a waiver type trade. Any team can have him and take on as much salary as they want. The more the team is willing to pay the less talent it will take. Yanks are going to want to move that salary.

I like a Markakis and Newcomb for McCann and Frazier trade. Markakis is better value than McCann and Frazier is somewhat better value than Newcomb. If the Braves add 2 SP in the offseason Newcomb is less immediately needed (and he might not prove to be ready soon anyway). Frazier would give the Braves their future RH power RF (one hopes).

I'm pretty sure Mac cleared waivers, meaning he has negative trade value. I would be all for taking almost all of his remaining contract (and negative overall value) if it meant giving up nothing but an organizational filler player.

I think Mac would be a great platoon partner with Flowers, and his return to Atlanta is exactly the kind of "big name" addition they will be trying to make when they open up the new park.
