Not similar. Hernandez played 1B. Ozzie and Druw played defensive first positions.

Druw is the greatest defender to ever grace the baseball field.

Being the best defnesive player at an offensive first position isn't saying much. Hernandez didn't hit well enough

Hernandez and Druw both should be in. Hernandez was about borderline offensively, but ultimately in the hall of very good, offensively speaking. But his defense should make up for the rest.

The thing about 1B is that a lot of players that played other positions could have been great defensive 1B but they played more difficult positions. Hernandez couldnt play gold glove CF. SS and CF are defensive premium positions so they should get more credit for their defense.

I don't think this is true at all. Just because 1b is probably the easiest position to "play", doesn't mean that it's easy to become very good at it.

True point. I' got into a discussion with someone about this years ago and basically said 1B can be very tough. But being much better than the average 1B is much easier than being much better than the average CF. If you were to use this year's standards with the 2, which is more impressive James Loney being 7 runs better than Chris Davis, or Carlos Gomez being 14 runs better than Desmond Jennings.
