If they played today

Talking with some of my friends we were discussing what retired Braves players could bat now if they were in the line up. This was just for fun, so I thought I would ask the question here to see what you thought.

The logical one was Chipper Jones. I think if he could only hit he could hit .280 for average.

The one I found most interesting was Julio Franco. I was the only one of 4 of us that thought he could still hit over .150. He could be 70 and still bat better than some pitchers.

Just curious what others think and which retired players you would want to throw in the mix for discussion.

Has Franco even stopped playing yet? It seems not long ago I found an ESPN article about him still playing in a semi-pro league somewhere. I imagine if that man is breathing he'll still be playing baseball somewhere.

I'll bet Julio could do it, given enough reps.

I'll bet Tom Glavine could still get a sac bunt down better than most of the Braves' starters of the last decade.
