Interesting tidbit

Did not see this anywhere so thought I would share. FP and Bob were discussing Dallas and FP brings up Kimbrel and says something along the lines of Braves almost got CK. According to a Braves source(my guess is this was Chip) the offers were close and CK turned down the Braves not because of money but because "he would simply rather be in Chicago."

To be fair, I’d also rather play in Chicago than Atlanta, on a purely “which city is doper”-based scale.

I watch it with the sound off because I am also forced to watch on MASN. I would rather have 14 Chips and 7 Joe Simpson’s than 1 FP. He is the worst.

If there’s anyone with inside knowledge of the Braves’ dealings, it’s FP Santangelo.

If you had actually been listening over the last week, Frenchie made the comment that FP spent a lot of time Braves booth between innings when the Nats were in town. So it is entirely possible one of those two let something slip.

And the thing I hate most about us playing the Gnats is I have to watch the games on MASN. Just for some context FP thinks Soto is better than Acuña LMAO

Oh, they are convinced of that. And I hate to say it, but time could prove them right. And another thing if the Braves ever let Freeman hit free agency, the Nats will be their competition.

I dont think the braves were willing to go the extra year the Cubs did

That seems to be the most likely scenario on paper, but you don’t think the vaunted trio of FP, Chip, and Jeff know what they’re talking about? Their track records speak for themselves.

If Freeman hits free agency that will most likely mean extension talks broke down and that usually means a player is gone. I suspect we can get an extension done and it wouldn’t surprise me if we don’t talk about it next offseason. The question will be length. Freddie seems happy and I doubt he wants to leave. The trick will be valuing what most likely will be decline years. The extension would start in his age 32 season and I doubt he would take less than 4 years.

Sorry, but I'll probably NEVER believe that Chip or Frenchy will ever be in a position to "let something slip" other than what somebody had for dinner or how bad one of the players is on the golf course - to anybody.
