For those who haven’t read the book or who have absorbed its ideas through cultural osmosis, what does it mean to be an antiracist?

Well, what it means to be antiracist is to first recognize that we live in a society of racial inequities, from wealth to health to criminal justice to education, and to recognize that we’ve been taught that, let’s say, Black people are disproportionately impoverished or incarcerated because there’s something wrong with Black people behaviorally or culturally. And to be antiracist is to say, no, the racial groups, not individuals, but the racial groups are equal, that there’s no group that is inferior or superior. And so therefore, the cause of a disparity or an inequity must be policies or practices that we see or don’t see. And to be antiracist is to identify those and challenge them and to try to rebuild a nation that — policies and practices that create equity and justice for all people.

I'll state at the outset that I think inequities between groups can endure a long time without an apparent racist component. So it seems to me this oversimplifies things a bit.

As an example, take Northern and Southern Italy. For many generations now Northern Italy has been much more prosperous. Is this because there is discrimination, either overt or subliminal against southern Italians? I doubt it.

Then we have a second, somewhat uncomfortable, question. Are southern Italians inferior to northern Italians. I doubt this too.

So we are left with a more complicated situation, where neither racism nor inherent inferiority fully explain outcomes.

I think this is the missing "middle ground" that a lot of people including Kendi fail to grasp. There are a lot of inequities that come from other factors that often have long tails. Such as the material conditions, culture and educational attainment of a particular group many generations ago. Of course, in the case of formerly enslaved people, much of this has been imposed by others.

I happen to believe that as a society we should be looking for way to improve opportunities for people of disadvantaged backgrounds. But it doesn't have to be driven by the belief that all of it is due to racism, past or present.

"Europeans are simply a different breed of human. They are socialized to be aggressive people. They are taught to live by the credo, “survival of the fittest.” They are raised to be racist."

“If discrimination is creating equity, then it is antiracist. If discrimination is creating inequity, then it is racist.”

"Caucasians make up only 10 percent of the world’s population and that small percentage of people have recessive genes. Therefore they’re facing extinction. Whites have tried to level the playing field with the AIDS virus and cloning, but they know these deterrents will only get them so far. This is where the murder, psychological brainwashing and deception comes into play."

Just to be clear, the racist that said those things is the same guy that so many of our sheep are looking to for guidance on "anti-racism."

I do believe in cultural superiority. They are not all equal pr healthy. There is a thug culture in America that infects all races but primarily black and hispanic people. It is absolutely toxic. It isnt a naturally developing culture. It's a byproduct of the war on drugs.

This really isnt the complicated situation people think it is. We know what policies caused this. We need to end that **** not give minorities advantages because they suffer under other policies. They lost all of my sympathy with the election of Jim Crow Joe. And it was hardly an isolated incident with Hillary getting the nomination in 16. You know what might help stop racisim? Stop nominating the architects of the systemic racisim. To quote Jim Crow Joe "black people asked me to do it".
