Is it time to blow this up?

It's going to take more than a trade for a reliever to pull this team together. The only thing consistent about this team is it's inconsistency. We have a core signed up for the next 5 years and maybe it's time to trade the others away for major league ready prospects and/or younger players. As much as I hate to write off this year I think we all know where this season is going anyway. :emot-siren.gif.17:

Yes, build this team for the future as referenced in the game thread. All hired men and veterans that aren't going to be contributors in the future are expendable, make them available, build for a legit 5 year run starting next year.

Many teams are going to be desperate for starting pitching for the stretch run. Both Santana and Floyd could bring in a massive haul. Harang may still have a little value for a team that is looking for a capable innings eater at the end of the rotation for a potential contender. Guys like Laird and Doumit may have some value to a contending team looking for a veteran backup C or versatile bench player.

This team is going no where no matter what we do, it's time to build this sucker around Heyward, Freeman, Andelton, Gattis, Tehran, Minor, Wood, Kimbrel, Simmons, etc and fill in the pieces this next offseason.

I've said it before, in fact I said it first game of the season, I didn't like this team and didn't think it was that good and I will say it again. We are garbage.

The hitting has actually been tolerable since LaStella got here. The problem now is the pitching. If you believe these guys are as bad as they've been lately, then by all means, blow it up.

I don't. I do put Wood back in the rotation now that Harang has turned into The Great Pumpkin. LaStella got here, and now is hitting lead off, which needed to happen. And we need a shutdown lefty in the bullpen. We need EOF and Jonny.

I have always maintained that you can withstand a few 100+ strikeout guys, but not a whole lineup full. I said as much when we acquired the Uptons. I really did not expect us to be this erratic, though. I'd have gladly been wrong.

The piece to move would be the good Upton for something like Prado.

I have a quick solution. Step 1, buy a noose. Step 2, put noose around neck. Step 3, attach noose to something high off the ground using a stool or ladder. Step 4, kick stool or ladder away. Problem solved.

Its just baseball don't take it so seriously. This is supposed to be fun remember?

OH MY GOSH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WE'RE 1 GAME OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THE SKY IS FALLING!!!!!!!!!!!!! AHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

PANIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!

While it certainly is not time to blow this team up, the fact remains that while we started 17-7, we've gone just 19-28 since. 47 games is a fairly large sample size and extrapolated over a full season is a record of 65-97. Are we more the team that started out hot, or more the team that has played the past 1/3 of a season? I think it is fair to say as currently constructed, we most likely are not a playoff team.

And people who panic at the first sign of adversity piss me off which is around the opposite of having fun. To your credit I don't recall you having a history of negative posting. I expected this thread from Mllwood or Atl717.

Theads like this are just ignorant. Its a grass is always greener on the other side mentality and its ridiculous. I read other teams forums like the nats. The majority think like you, Millwood, and Atl717 about their own team. When other teams fans are more positive about your team than you are then something is wrong with you. Whats the opposite term for being a homer?

Edit - and this shut has been going on since 2013. Everytime the nats would win 2 games in a row the cry babies came out saying how the nats were about to go on a roll and we had no chance. One dumbass even predicted we couldn't hold a 10 game lead till the all star break with only 14 games to play.
