Jackie Bradley Jr. Anyone?

yeezus

It's OVER 5,000!
Apparently Gammons is reporting that we're interested in him and made it clear to the Sox that we are. My initial thoughts are I'd take him. I wonder what we'd have to give up. I have a feeling they'd ask for Minor or a near-ML pitcher. What would that mean for the BJ? Other thoughts?

I would love to grab Bradley but there's no way I would trade Minor for him. I don't think it would be anything close to him. Minor has some injury concerns but he's got a proven track record, young, and under team control. Bradley hasn't shown he's a major leaguer yet. But again I would love to grab him.

Depends totally on price. He hasn't done much of anything to this point. We have a BJ and if we acquire Bradley, we'd have a JB. I really worry about the initials.

I think we could get more for Minor if Minor is indeed in the conversation.

If they would take Minor for Bradley I would strongly consider it.

The next time Bradley hits .200 in a season at the major league level will be his first. Atleast if we had him BJ wouldn't have to feel bad about being the worst hitter on the team.

I'd be interested in trading for Bradley given his elite defense and minor-league track record, but he's the type of guy that is really hard to value in a trade. He clearly doesn't have the value of the elite prospect he once was, but he's also more valuable than the 54 OPS+ hitter he's shown himself to be so far at the MLB level. There's a big gulf between those two points that may be tough to bridge for the two teams.

I like his defense, but he should be near out of options and hasn't shown he can even hit .200 in the Majors yet. So his trade value shouldn't be so high that he fetches someone like Mike Minor. It is crazy talk to consider offering Minor for him, IMO.

That said, I am sure a number of teams including the Braves are hoping to buy low on him.

Now that we're through the big three, we acquire nothing that has an acquisition cost. That leaves this dude out.

Aren't there guys who can catch the ball and hit .150 that The Hoarders can find for free?

Here's the link to the article and the paragraph where the Braves and Bradley Jr. are mentioned.

"When the Red Sox know the health and the predictable production of all their outfielders this spring, they may well make a trade or two; the Braves have called and made it clear they have strong interest in Jackie Bradley, but that is a post St. Patrick’s Day discussion."

Curious to see what the Braves are offering if this rumor actually has legs.

I was going to make a joke here with one of our good players (other than Wood, Teheran, Freeman, or Kimbrel cause no one would believe that) involved, but the joke is that there's not really anyone else left worth joking about.

This is all crap.

1. The Sox have seven outfielders. Bradley is number eight. Maybe.

2. After St. Pats Day the rosters are all but set. Very little movement except for late cuts then.

3. We already have a CF who looks great in a hotel lobby and hits .150.

4. Gammons thought he heard Jackie Bradley to the Braves, but he really heard that the Chattahoochee School for Wayward Youth had a strong interest in Milton Bradley.

5. Bradley may well be cut. Which is the only way The Hoarders would have "a strong interest," since they continue to build toward their core objective of being a franchise that Keith Law ranks highly.

6. If The Hoarders trade for Jackie Bradley, Dalyn will run naked down the middle of Peachtree on opening day.

7. If Hart gets him, he knows Fredi will give him 450 at bats. And as much fun as Hart is having playing Rachel Phelps, even he can't bear the thought of Willie Mays Hayes leading off.

8. I have it on good authority Peter missed his meds last night. The nurses have been looking for him all day.
