Just To Keep Everyone Honest...

All quotes from the 2015 Draft Results Thread...we all know who we are. Some good, some bad (so far) - perfect examples of why the draft is an imperfect science and that knee-jerk reactions are often wrong, whether they're about picks or trades. None of us "know" as much as we think we know (and I'll be the first to admit I'm as guilty as anyone else).

"Yeah - again. The pitcher is fine. Although he is injured and also committed to school. I just want another top 10 hitting prospect in our system to look forward to instead of always saying "we're not gonna sign this guy"

Please don't ever say you "knew Riley would make it".

"Dude I guess you think you know more than all the people whose job it is to do this!!!!!!!!!"

Then why did you question EVERY draft pick???

"We dont need hitters, we'll trade for one and sign one in FA."

Then why *itch about trading Wood for a hitter?

"Soroka was a huge reach."

"Yes, their GM is really bright. I'm noticing a trend throughout baseball between really smart front offices and going heavy on positional talent. I'm just afraid we may be living in 1995 when it doesn't make sense to do so anymore."

2015 Deadline:

David Price - 3 arms

Johnny Cueto - 3 arms

Cole Hamels - 2 hitters, 4 arms

Troy Tulowitzki - Former All-Star SS, 3 arms

Jonathon Papelbon - 1 arm

Ben Zobrist - 3 arms

David DeJesus - 1 arm

Tyler Clippard - 1 arm

Juan Uribe & Kelly Johnson - 2 arms

Mike Leake - 1 hitter, 1 arm

"oh yeah... forgot.

GREAT PICK BRAVES! "

About the Austin Riley pick

"I'm counting on that #75 Cahill pick to be a future hall of famer"

A. J. Minter pick

"Besides the really good Allard pick, we are flushing this golden opportunity straight down the crapper. Very underwhelming and disappointing draft."

"I'm not especially happy with day one (at all), although I do like Allard's arm ... not worried about the 'injury' at all. As others have stated, would have preferred a more offensive-minded approach, but understand why the team went the way it did.

That being said, I'm completely willing to give Roy Clark and Bridges the benefit of the doubt on the other picks. Their collective track record stands pretty strongly on its own."

"Well the Braves had some pretty damn good assets to deal this winter and didn't bring in much offense. The highlights were Miller, Jenkins, Fried, Folty, and Wisler"

"As far as Austin Riley goes, this is a player who would likely be a top 15 pick in 3 years if he goes to Mississippi State. So, while Atlanta may have reached a little to grab him based on the draft boards of people on the outside, this is a guy who was drafted with a long term view of what he can do. You guys wanted a corner infielder with some pop in his bat. Well, you got him."

"Acquired in trades for pitchers, which was the point, I believe."

"The Teix deal was centered around Andrus and Salty. I don't even remember the others.. but you've gone back two decades to pull an example"

Wasn't the Teixeira trade 8 years before the 2015 draft?

"2 hitters acquired on day one. That's equal to the amount the Cubbies got."

Ha, good stuff. I'm glad you didn't do the Cahill trade thread. My crystal ball was a tad bit off that day.
