Kranitz talks pitching with Fangraphs

Mostly babbling by Kranitz (I feel sorry for the editor that had to translate that), but he almost articulated an interesting point: "But a lot of young guys nowadays are really just staying in their approach. They don’t get out of it, so if you can command the baseball you can exploit that to a certain degree."

I wonder how this differs from what's always happened, and how much if it is due to the fact pitchers' stuff is so good nowadays guys can't really cover more than a fraction of the zone.
