Lineup Tweaking - what would you do?

So Fredi indicated you may see a different lineup tomorrow. Here is my suggestion. What is yours?

A. Simmons

C. Johnson

F. Freeman

J. Upton

E. Gattis

J. Heyward

B.J. Upton

T. Pastornicky (LaStella when ready)

Pitcher

Johnson and Simmons have lower OBP's than Heyward and BJ. That would be a complete joke to put them at the top. Johnson's OBP is just slightly better than Dan's.

Not sure what will work, but my preference all year has been:

Heyward
Simmons
Freeman
Upton
Gattis
Johnson
BJ
Pastornicky
Pitcher

Uggla has had enough chances. Believe Fredi is a prisoner of the contract. I wonder if he's been told that he must play Uggla a certain amount.

My lineup would be this. I have been saying Simmons for the two hole for two months now.

Jason
Simmons
Freddie
Justin
Gattis
CJ
Uggla
Pitcher
BJ

Simmons has a .280 OBP, and when he does make contact it has plenty of double play potential.

Why in the world would you put him at that position?

Simmons should be hitting 5th or 6th. When he does rake, he hits it pretty hard and can homer too which is what I'd want if we're going all or nothing. I also have no idea why you hate BJ so much because he's surprisingly been one of our only rays of hope recently. To hit him 9th would be a joke.

Jason
Pastornicky
Freddie
Justin
Simmons
Gattis
CJ
BJ (should walk more in front of the pitcher, which means more stolen base opportunities, and if our pitchers ever learn how to bunt, he could be at 3rd base with less than 2 outs).

If TLS ever gets called up, I want:

LaStella
Heyward
Freddie
Justin
Simmons
Gattis
CJ
BJ

If Bossman finds some type of power again, I'd move him up. I'd really be tempted to put Gattis at 8th... he'd get so less pitches to hit it'd force him to learn how to take pitches and walk.

Cut bait with Uggla call up TLS

Go one of 2 ways

TLS
Heyward
Freeman (I know it's breaking a rule, but there's not much better way to do this)
Justin
Gattis
Johnson
Simmons
Bossman

Or

TLS
Justin
Freeman
Heyward
Gattis
Johnson
Simmons
Bossman

I don't think Simmons is ready for primetime anchoring the top of the lineup. He seems to be enjoying the 8 hole no reason to slide him out on a permanent basis if we bring up TLS. I think he coudl succeed in the 2 hole if we don't, because with JAson on infront Simmons I think could be an ideal candiddate for moving him over. Or he could hit into an obscene amount of double plays. Coudl go either way.

You can't polish a turd. Changing the batting order will do nothing. The lineup has 3-4 legit sub .300 OBP guys.

If I had to make out a lineup card tho:

Heyward
J-Up
Gattis
Freeman
Simmons
CJ
TLS
BeeJ

There's really not that much you can do with the lineup except for replace Uggla with LaStella.

Really the biggest issue we have lately is Freeman is mired in a significant slump.

It's no coincidence that we're 0-6 in our past 6 games and Freeman is 2 for 23 in that span with 2 singles and only 2 walks.

Especially considering BJ and Heyward have been getting on quite a bit in front of him

Why would you move Heyward down when he's one of the few guys hitting the past few games? He's 8-24 with four doubles over the past week: his hitting leadoff hasn't been the problem.

Current Roster

1 Heyward
2 Pastornicky
3 Freeman
4 JUpton
5 Gattis
6 BJupton
7 Johnson
8 Simmons

Pastornicky is quick and seems to hit the ball the other way well. Gives more oppurtunity to hit and run and stay out of the double play.

If Lastella comes up
1 Heyward
2 Lastella
3 Upton
4 Freeman
5 Gattis
6 BJ Upton
7 Johnson
8 Simmons

I prefer a lefty in the 2 hole, I think it would allow Heyward more freedom to run. Also makes it easier on the hit and run play to pull the ball to the 2nd base side.

Just sit Uggla and give Pastornicky a real shot at second. If he fails, then La Stella should get the chance. ALSO, does anyone know if Fredi signed an extension or is it still in the talking stage?
