Sobotka down has nothing to do with Markakis. He was sent down to clear a spot for Schebler who was activated tosay along with d'Arnaus and Flowers. Contrera and Jackson sent down to clear the other 2 spots.

This is a good thing if he's used correctly. Markakis essentially replaces Matt Adams. Instead of using Ozuna in left and Adams as the DH against right handers, you use Markakis in left and leave Ozuna as the full time DH.
