Playing the Waiting Game
First of all I just would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and I hope everyone enjoys their day!

Secondly, with me being relatively new to the forum, I would like to thank everyone for allowing me (and all the new members) to participate in the many discussions. I have thoroughly enjoyed carrying on the many topics of discussions as well as "debating" some that others share a different opinion on. As with each topic, there are many different opinions and I enjoy reading everyone's especially those who disagree. In the end, we all as Braves fans just want our team to be competitive and while here lately there are certainly differing opinions on what's best for the club and what the best coarse of action is, I believe it's safe to assume that if you want to talk Braves baseball, this is the best site. So thanks again to everyone -especially the mods- for giving us a place to come raise a little he** about our Atlanta Braves!

JUST 56 DAYS UNTIL PITCHERS AND CATCHERS REPORT TO SPRING TRAINING​
 
I started this last night, but didn't finish. Consider it my John Hart effort.

Twas the night before Christmas,
When all through the house
Not a creature with stirring, not even a mouse.
All the prospects were hung by the chimney with care, in hopes that Dr. Andrews soon would be there.

The front office was nestled all snug in its bed,
While visions of contention in 2017 danced in its head.
And John in his suspenders, and I in my cap, had just settled our brains for a long winters nap

When out on the field there arose such a clatter, I sprang from my bed to see what was the matter
Away to the diamond I flew like a flash, tore open the shutters and threw up the sash
The chalk on the breast of the fresh sodded turf, gave the luster of midseason to objects below, when, what to my wondering eyes should appear, but a contending team and 9 tiny contact hittears.
With a little old skipper, so slow-minded yet quick, I knew in an instant it must be Fredi the Grinch
More rapid than Dee Gordon his slap-hitters they came, and he whistled and shouted and called them by pet names:

Now Simba! Now Bossman!
Now Freddie and Woody!
On Hot Dog! on Gatdog!
On Markaki and Frenchy!

To the bottom of the standings
To the bottom of it all
Now slap-hit away, slap-hit away, slap-hit away all!
 
Christmas is the right holiday at the right time.

Perfect Christmas: Dinner at Honeybaked Ham hosted by Fredi. Everyone gets the presents; Bowman and Harang get all the food.

Pantless cocaine party at Chip's afterward. Jason is still invited.
 
And as my little contribution to lightening the mood here at/on Christmas, here's my personal opinion on why our new "virtual" GM has had trouble getting the kind of return for our "stars" that we all think he should have been able to get. Picture JH as Rob Schneider's character in You Don't Mess with the Zohan and the other GMs as John Tuturro/Phantom's character and I think it will all make a lot more sense. :icon_biggrin:
