Untyil Floyd proves something he isn't better than any of our starting pitchers. He has seniority in the league, yes. However he's not automatically given a spot in this rotation.

It's not so cut and dry. He's guaranteed $4MM. There are bonuses (tied to performance and time spent on the roster) worth another $4.5MM.

I think Floyd will be given every opportunity to succeed in the rotation because he could be extremely valuable to the Braves either in the rotation or as a chip down the road.

With our limited rotation depth, trading Floyd doesnt make a whole lot of sense.

I agree. My point is that he's basically guaranteed a spot in the rotation because of his contract -- and if he's not in the rotation then he's going to be wearing another uniform.

His incentives:
- $675K for 60 days on Major League roster.
- $251K for each start over 20 (which escalates over 30, but he's missed that window)
