Minor League Rosters

Sorry folks. No news here.

The minor league season starts next Tuesday at all four levels and I have yet to see anything reported as to who is playing for which team. Rosters are usually announced by now and I was wondering if anyone had seen anything.

My apologies to rico43 for stepping into his realm, but maybe rosters can be posted here as they become available.
 
If my memory is correct, I feel like we have been one of the last teams in baseball to announce rosters under AA. Pretty sure it was the day before or maybe even day of the openers two years ago.

The best route for info before release is just social media. I saw Nolan Kingham posted that he was headed to Mississippi, but that’s all so far.

I saw a post from him a week or so ago. Can't remember the subject of the thread.

As for the rosters, I agree with CJ9 that the Braves lollygag on this. The fate of Western Civilization doesn't hinge on when the minor league rosters are published, but it does seem like a bit of jackassery.

I imagine players have been assigned to specific rosters, but I haven't seen anything new published. If you go to the milb.com site, you will see rosters, but those are just the rosters set after last season for the major league and minor league portions of the Rule 5 draft.
 
The communications guy for the Mississippi team said he expects rosters to be announced Tuesday ... otherwise known as opening day.

Can't let this highly protected information out!

Seems like it for him and Bryce Ball. The other guy I'm curious about is Freddy Tarnok. I thought he was a no brainer Double A guy. He was in High A in 2019, so he can't still be there and Gwinnett would be aggressive. Hope he's not hurt.
 
I expected to see Backstrom on the Augusta roster.
Guessing Ball returns to Rome for their move up to High A?

Looking at these rosters make me realize how our depth was so adversely affected by the Coppolella penalties.

I haven't kept abreast of all the changes and while I know the Appalachian League has gone the way of the dinosaur, will there be complexes in the Gulf Coast League and the Dominican Summer League?
 
If Harris is what we all hope he is, expect his 2021 to be similar to Acuna's 2017. Wreck shop in A+ for 100-150 PAs, then move to AA for 200-250 PAs, and then finally getting some reps in AAA by the end of summer. Heyward did the same thing in 2009. Andruw did it in 1996. Chipper probably should have in 1992, and Freeman would have if not for an injury in 2009 (am I remembering that correctly?). That's the "elite young hitter in his 2nd full season" path.

If he follows that path, and the new CBA removes the incentive to keep young players down for a few weeks, expect to see Harris competing for a spot on the MLB roster next ST.

Can't wait to see Michael Harris in miss. Hope he has a debut like Acuna... Acuna destroyed balls his first night. There was no doubt where he was headed
