Hessmania Forever
Gwinnett still the only team playing, but will be joined by Augusta and Rome on Thursday night.

Kyle Wright was the player of interest on Wednesday. Always hard to tell what's going on in a rehab, but Wright's line didn't look that great. Did throw 85 pitches over six innings and I think that's a good sign.

And now, the notable performances:

Grissom 1/5, R (not a great night, but has a hit in all five games)
Tromp 1/3, 2B, 2 BB, 1 K
Sanchez 2/5, RBI
Sierra 2/5, R, 2 K
Dean 1/4, 2 RBI, 2 K
White 0/4, 1 BB, 2 K
Dunand (in 2023 debut) 1/2, 2 BB, 1 K

Wright 6 IP, 7 H, 5 R, 5 ER, 6 K, 1 BB, 1 HRA, 84 pitches (53/31)
Lovelady, 1 IP, 1 K

Wright's line wasn't good but he was solid. Bad defense cost him. The biggest concern was his velocity, which was way down on his sinker, four-seamer and slider. Changeup had a slight velo increase and curveball stayed the same.

I always take rehabs with a grain of salt, especially in this case because he hardly threw in spring training. He's probably not quite ready to amp it up in terms of velocity. Interested to see where things go from here with him. 84 pitches is quite a few for his first time out so they maybe had him pump the brakes a bit. Or, worst case, there are some physical things he's battling through. That said, if they were truly worried about something physical, I doubt they would have left him out there for six innings.

Think he comes back on Tuesday? We'll probably have to do a BP game on Friday. Would need to do another one on Tuesday if he's not ready.
