LEAGUE LEADERS:

Phil Gosselin trailed Stephen Souza in the IL batting race, .354 to .344. But Gosselin had 50 more ABs (378-328) and should qualify for the title. He and Souza are both currently in the majors, of course.

Here's one you did not expect: Kyle Kubitza leads the SL in walks received (70) and in on-base percenetage (.409) and is second in triples (12-10). Jason Hursh is in a four-way tie for the lead in wins (11).

Lynchburg's Kevin Ahrens is tied for the league lead in doubles (35). Alex Wilson, currently on the DL, is second in the Carolina League in Saves (22-15).

Jordan Edgerton leads Appy League in RBIs (39 in 47 G). Alex Grosser is two off the lead in strikeouts.

Oz Albies has had his season evenly split over GCL and Danville. He would be leading either league with his .386 average and .464 OBP.

-----------------

Hard to have a better Appy League debut that Oriel Caicedo. Today, he's faced one over the minimum through seven innings, allowing two hits and a walk but getting two double plays -- one of which he started himself.

-----------------

Going for his league-leading 12th win, Hursh had to leave Sunday's game in 2nd after taking line drive to his butt. It MAY have nicked his pitching hand as well.

Albies hit his first homerun last night!!

Man it would be huge if we could develop another super everyday prospect behind Peraza.

I had a great note about Albies for today, but my POS desktop froze last night about 11 p.m. and is stick in the deep freeze. I am too tired and am not getting enough feedback to write it twice, so suffice to say, he's had a helluva year.

I assure you that I read most of what you write and appreciate it.
