REPORT ON FLOYD'S OUTING:

PEARL, MS-In a game that saw two Braves position players on the mound, the Huntsville Stars pounded the Mississippi Braves 13-0 in the series finale at Trustmark Park.
The M-Braves managed six hits and committed one error. Matt Lipka and Cedric Hunter led the Braves offensively with two hits at the plate.

Gavin Floyd retired the first nine batters before giving up back-to-back singles to Josh Prince and Hainley Statia to start the fourth. A wild pitch and a passed ball allowed Rogers to score on unearned run and put the Stars out front 1-0. In the top of the fifth, Adam Weisenburger singled and Nick Shaw walked. Prince then singled to load the bases with two outs. Statia was hit by a pitch, allowing Weisenburger to score and put the Stars out front 2-0. After Ryne Harper came in to relieve Floyd, Nick Ramirez delivered a two-run single. Jason Rogers followed with a two-run double to make it a 6-0 game.

Floyd (0-1) worked 4.2 innings, giving up five runs, four earned, on four hits and a walk. He struck out six batters.

My guess is this is Minor's last rehab start. Floyd will probably get one or two more after this one.

Floyd made it very clear after his last one that not only does he think he's ready, he feels everyone feels he's ready but the Braves. I read some discontentment there, but how badly is he even needed right now.?

Honestly, he's not. Besides Hale (which will be swapped for Minor), I'm not really comfortable with him coming up yet. That being said, it could change if Harang gives up 7 runs today.

Harang's on a great run. But it is like playing with house money at blackjack. You should try to get up from the table while ahead. He did walk six batters tonight.
