We could do this, IMO. Trade some young pitching for Bregman and Myers. Sign Wieters. Keep Julio.

Myers could possibly be had by trading away pitching prospects since the Padres are rebuilding, but there is 0% chance the Astros give up Bregman without getting a premium MLB player with several years of control remaining.

If the Braves want to compete next year they can not have Mallex and Ender both being everyday players.

Myers and Bergman are realistic????

Ff
Albies
Swanson
Freese
Mallex
Inciarte
Reddick
Castro

Tehran
Folty
Wisler
Some vet on a short deal
Jenkins

Win 75 games

I think if we trade for a bat maybe folty for McMahon.

Take the year to break in some long term guys. Flip guys like freese if you get lucky.

Realistic ha? How on earth do you expect to get Alex Bregman and Wil Myers while still having Julio Teheran ha

I like this plan a lot, but I would not splurge on a multi year deal for any 3B this offseason. At least one, if not both, of Donaldson and Machado will be available in 2018, along with possibly Moosetacos as well. Think about Machado next to Swanson and Albies for 6 of the next 7 years....

Absolutely. What you are pointing out is one of the dangers of building for 2017 when 2018 is the better year. You don't want to tie up your payroll on a bunch of mediocre guys so you can say you improved from 100 losses to 90 losses then loss flexibility for the 2017-2018 FA year.

So, Freese, Reddick and Castro and some vet on a short deal likely makes 2017 a 70-75 win team, but none really move the needle long term. They are all supplemental pieces on a good team, not key pieces. You always need supplemental pieces, but the majority of the team can't be supplemental if you want to be good.

I think you get freese on an overpay for next year in exchange for a cheap team option or two. That said there is no way we outbid Toronto. Donaldson only leaves if he hates Canada. Machado is staying. But I agree we need the options open.

Yes but i was being realistic.

Realistically who do we get that can make an impact?

Maybe lucroy and or Braun. Maybe mccutchen if pirates have the guts and meadows is ready. No impact free agents. What are those trades going to cost?

Machado will almost certainly sign an extension before he hits FA, as will much of that 'ridiculous' class. It will be a good year for FA, but we're not going to see several of the best players in the league available.

maybe. I'm not so sure. A lot of guys love being able to test the market

If we can trade with pads for some farther away pitchers....get Meyers and Norris. Although I admit I worry about his defense and his past. Also Norris is trending down.

Albies
Swanson

Meyers-lf
Reddick
3b-freese
Inciarte
Norris

Tehran
Wisler
Folty
Random vet
Jenkins

Viz
Minter
Winkler
Simmons
Paco

Winthrow
That's some talent in pen. Granted over half are hurt and one has never sniffed mlb

Bench
Mallex
Neck
Flowers
Others

Maybe 80 wins? Maybe better if pen lives up to talent, or Norris returns to athletics form, or freese plays well and inciarte hits, or Swanson and albies both ops north of 750, or folty plus another p put it together

Trade for Lucroy (if he will extend of course) and trade for Wil Myers. I think we have the guys to make it happen and do it without giving up Teheran.

Albies 2B

Myers LF

Swanson SS

Freeman 1B

Lucroy C

Inciarte CF

Olivera 3B

Teheran RHP

Smith RF

Wil Myers and i been reading that San Diego wants to extend him plus right now he is playing first base.
Hector Olivera he may not even come back to the mayors.
Alex Bregman i really believe is not going no where in the american league they can play Gourriel at Dh and solve that issue.
I doubt Boston want to do any trades now with us.

I believe the Braves go with a trade with New York for Brian McCann for Nick Markakis.
We bring back Martin Prado to play third base and a long time ago i read that Josh Reddick he used to be a Braves fan plus he is from Georgia. We may try to solidify the Bullpen and maybe bring a veteran pitcher.

Lineup
2b Ozzie Albies - Omar Infante
SS Dansby Swanson - Daniel Castro
1b Freddie Freeman
C Brian McCann - Tyler Flowers
RF Josh Reddick - Jeff Francour
