Nelson Mandela Has Died

"Nelson Mandela did a lot of good work, don't get me wrong. But I think I'm on track to do something even bigger. I liberate minds with my music. That's more important than liberating a few people from apartheid or whatever.

"Not to say Mandela wasn't for real. I have mad respect. I just think we need to keep things in perspective here. Anyone can be replaced. And I think I'm well on my way towards being the next great black leader. I'm already worshiped around the world. And there's more to come."

Guess who said it.

you know Kanye didn't actually say that, right?

it is like the onion

Bushie loves to hand out the nicknames. I wonder what he ladled out to the Prez?

sturg33, don't know if they are in the same pod, but they are in the same aisle of the grocery store.

Whether one likes/dislikes either Bush or Obama, I have always thought that the Prez should have acknowledged Bushie's administration's efforts upon the assassination of bin Laden. I'm sure that sentiment isn't shared by many here or anywhere.

I always wondered that as well. Not that it is anything but a pleasantry, but I thought it was called for to be honest.

I thought they came out even. Obama didn't turn Bush over to the World Court in the Hague for war crimes but in the bargain Bush didn't get credit for finding and killing someone he had cornered , didnt have the stones to pull the trigger - subsequently farming the job out to Afghan warlords. Who predictably had no interest in doing the wests bidding
Leaving one more mess for the country to clean up

Flame away

Back to the pictures of Bush and Obama --- that was kinda the point of Mandela. People finding common ground -- right now--- over me

Of course they found common ground, they agree on everything.

I wonder if Obama will go to prison for his war crimes.

I am a lifelong Dem and certainly prefer Obama's policies to Bush's, but 57, we are still committing a number of the same war crimes, if not as egregiously, certainly as consistently.

I agree with most everything you say but faulting Obama for not acknowledging Bush 43 -- we separate.
There are countries Bush or Cheney can not enter for fear of arrest. The only thing that Obama has to do with that is he hasn't turned them over. Furthermore one of his first press conferences during transition he stated as much publicly
Every President has dirt under his fingernails -- That is not giving O a pass.
Nor do I really want to revisit the Bush years or his invasion / occupations

Let's just smile and appreciate that political foes can sit and talk

No one said it. It's made up.

Genius...
