Braves have had a top 5 payroll the last few years. I’d love for them to spend more but it’s hardly something to get that bothered by.

Not a moron. Just not blinded by the tomahawk. If I feel like the Braves are screwing up, I have the guts to say it, unlike most of you. AA has done a crappy job and it is catching up. And yes, I do like seeing this happen because I like being right as much as anybody else.
You’re damn right. It’s also long term, the blueprint for a decade of suck worse than non-buttered instant grits made with sea water.

In terms of fWAR by position the Braves are currently ranked:
C - #4
1B - #7
2B - #18
3B - #10
SS - #21
LF - #24
CF - #22
RF - #17
DH - #6
Considering Profar will be given a chance when he comes back, Harris/Acuna aren’t going anywhere, and Verdugo/White/Kelenic can make up a decent bench, upgrading the OF isn’t going to happen.
The only other places to upgrade are SS/2B, and there doesn’t seem to be much out there.
Braves SPs are 20th in fWAR, and the BP is 25th. It seems to me all the room for improvement is on the pitching staff. The back of the BP is a complete disaster right now, so they probably need 2 legit guys. This team can really only afford to have 1 of Holmes/AJSS in the rotation, so AA needs to get a real SP to help get this team to October.

This feels like the convo we had last November when AA didn’t do anything and lied about payroll going up. Just as the case in the offseason, everything will be just too expensive and he will settle for dumpster diving behind the dollar tree.
