Connoisseur of Minors
Back in March my Girlfriend bought a house. It was previously bought on dirt cheap auction and flipped to us. 90% or so of what was done was fine. Some minor stuff was done stupidly, Such as they installed laminate wood flooring and had a lower level tile "mud room" They installed a simple wooden room divide into it and it cracked immediately because the laminate were all separate of course it was bound to happen. And they installed the railing, bath towel rack, and a few other things just into drywall. But it was the plumbing that has been the downfall of our homeownership. First one was they attached pex to galvanized steel to pex again. Which they did to hide the galvanized steel after our inspector pointed it out. It let go after the second night in our house pouring cold water all over the basement, it sucked. A plumber came in and fixed it as best they could. Second issue was the washer drain was installed incorrectly, It was only 1 and a half inch pipe and it had no pitch at it's base, so it overflowed with almost no effort. We got those 2 issues resolved and were finally happy. When my girlfriend's brother moved in he took a shower and it spilled into our basement. We go to find out that they didn't properly connect the piping, and the old pipe was massively clogged, with grout. And it had a gigantic crack in the pipe. Like shocking that no one noticed it except that the pipe was covered by drywall in the closet.
DOwnside (aside form the damage to the carpet in our bedroom and the smell of probably mold) is now we probably can't afford to get our backyard cleared from all the ****ty brush and some of the dying trees.
