Some highlights

"The average cost of an MRI ranged from $138 in Switzerland to $1,145 in the United States."

"The commonly prescribed pain drug Celebrex cost an average of $225 in the United States, twice as much as it did in Britain ($112) and more than four times as much as it did in Canada ($51).

Gleevec, a cancer drug, cost an average of $6,214 in the United States and $989 in New Zealand.

Not only did it cost more to get sick in the United States, it was far more expensive to have babies. A normal childbirth cost $10,002 in the United States, compared with $2,237 in Argentina and $2,251 in Spain. Birth by C-section ranged from $2,844 in Spain to $15,240 in the United States."

With a higher population than those countries, we should have LOWER medical costs.

Got to love being forced to sign up for horrific profiteering health care plans. Yay Obama.

Universal or no healthcare are the 2 best options, US needs to get that **** in order.

Obamacare is essentially the worst of both worlds. With single payer the costs decrease but so does the responsiveness and quality of care. With what we had before Obamacare you had high costs but responsiveness and actual quality of care were very high. So you could at least choose between low cost or high quality care. Now with Obamacare we have high costs and lesser quality and lesser responsiveness healthcare.

But hey at least some more folks are covered. It's always smart to base major policy on about 1.5 percent of the population.

Well if all the GOP Governors in the South hadn't blocked the medicaid expansion it'd be helping out a lot more people.

And as some have said on here before, Obamacare is the bridge to Universal. I'd say in about 5-6 years universal will be the next step if not public option.

A bridge? There aren't any bridges in this country. Bridges bring people and things together. This country couldn't be more divided.

And setting us further in debt. Medicare expansions are part of the problem. Everyone has to be covered or no one. It's really that simple.

We could potentially save 400 billion on single payer. Or we have no health insurance. THe old way is bad, the new way is terrible.
