Return of the Late Bloomer

Figured this was coming. We're fortunate he was still available. Guessing he got some offers this off-season, but probably nothing more than minor league contract type of offers.

He was working in the Braves front office. Pretty sure he wasn’t going anywhere else.

Flowers wilted and retired today.

Developed bad disk issues the last two years and couldn’t bear coming back.
 
after carrying the team for the past few years, I can understand the back issues....

really though, i've met him several times and he is a great guy. enjoy retirement!

Sucks because I actually thought there was a chance having him around might help the Pitchers more than most would think. Since he was already on the payroll maybe they can make him a Bullpen Coach so he can help with gameplanning.
