Rio Ruiz

Impressed with what you've seen? I watched him several times in Mississippi and he always stung the ball and his defense has been there too. He's shown more power this year and has been a pleasant surprise. What happens to him in the offseason? Possibly traded, will compete for the 3b spot in ST, or sent back to AAA?

Liked his defense. I think he needs more time at AAA.... He's so young, he could still make some huge strides offensively.

I think a Ruiz/Garcia platoon is the backup plan if a better long term option for 3B isn't acquired. Now that Freese and Prado have been extended, and Desmond and Turner will almost certainly be tagged with a QO, there doesn't seem to be any better options than that platoon on the FA market. Maybe a trade centered around one of Mallex or Inciarte can bring back a Longoria or Baez type talent, but outside of a big trade like that I have to imagine we see Ruiz get a long look next season as the heavy side of a platoon.

I like his swing a lot. I wouldn't mind sending him back to AAA to start next year, but I also don't think he particularly needs it. I think he could be here to stay.

I think we'll bring back KJ and have him as our backup at third. Makes more sense to have Ruiz play every day and continue to develop in AAA. Eventually Ruiz will get his shot.

I wouldn't mind seeing a Ruiz/Garcia platoon. They both have noticeable platoon splits, so this could work out pretty well. You'd also want Ruiz playing more because of his defense.
