Soooo... what do y'all think happened to Jason Heyward..... and why did he seemingly peak as a rookie?

Because..... outside of that year in St Louis and that sort of pseudo power surgery had in 2012, I just feel like he never reached his potential, as loaded and subjective as a statement that that can be.

I remember conversing with the Snowman of yesteryear about this, and he was convinced that the Braves hitting coaches messed with Jason's patience as a hitter and basically fubar'ed him Beyond repair.

I also know that jason, of course, was hit in the face by Jon Niese, and while no two incidents of those kinds are the same, I feel like Giancarlo Stanton was able to bounce back from his memorable experience, in that regard.

Obviously the hype with Heyward was peak in itself, and that first swing off of Carlos Zambrano will forever stoke the fires of Chip Caray's bedroom.

But man, I was convinced that we had the more patient hitter version of Ken Griffey Jr on our hands. What do!?!?

And as an aside, And I'm really not trying to be a cynical bastard as I ask this, but how could Jason heyward's speech to his team really have been what they needed to motivate themselves to win a game 7 of a world series? Make it make sense
