Folty scratched with elbow soreness. Gausman and Gohara have not pitched due to shoulder issues. Soroka of course we know about.

Starting pitching surplus anyone?
 
This would be nearly unprecedented levels of bad luck hitting all at once if the Braves lose that much pitching in the first week of ST.

Wren knows a thing or two about young pitching and bad luck in a relative short amount of time.
 
Damn. We could be in for a lot of growing pains with the young guys if Folty goes down and Gausman is having problems. I pray it’s all just soreness from a long winter.
 
Having your 3 best pitchers struggling with shoulder/elbow discomfort seems a bit of an inauspicious start to the season.

Well, that's a little bit of revisionist history, at least as far as the rotation goes.

Remember Gohara was supposed to be in the rotation. How many starts did he make. Then his replacement (Anibal) went down for a while with an injury.

McCarthy is another guy who went down.

Teheran had a stint on the DL. Fried had issues with blisters that cost him starts. Soroka got injured.

Maybe in terms of position players, pitching we were unlucky but yes that usually evens out over time.
