Strider Update

They would be clinically stupid to do so. He is finally showing signs he might be able to command the fast ball. These things tend to work themselves out, though. Someone else will get hurt.

Blewett have options? I don't see them giving up on Montero yet, even though I'm fine with it

AJSS will be optioned. AA has always kept guys with options down even if they deserve a shot. Elder will remain. Holmes will remain even though he doesn’t deserve starts over AJSS.

If they send AJSS down, AA needs to be fired. He's been fantastic and is way more valuable with the MLB squad.

I will say, DFA'ing a meh reliever and adding Holmes to the bullpen would huge given the emergence of guys like Blewett.

I think the smart - but unpopular - decision will be to stash AJ back in the minors for now. As posted above, somebody else will get hurt. It’s only early May. We will need a lot of SP arms this summer. Hell, last year we used 13 different starters.

DFA Luke Williams. We can make do with 4 OFers for a bit. I would say let Holmes start tommorrow and Strider gets 3 innings at AAA. Then Strider takes Holmes place in the rotation.

Sending AJ back down would be stupid. He has the potential that Elder doesn't. We all know Elder has maxed his potential. Send Holmes to the bullpen where he's a weapon and get rid of a reliever.
