Braves sign Marcos Almonte, who has been in the Astros chain for five seasons. Moving to Rome from Quad Cities in the Midwest League, he was .221-0-13 this year when he was released May 10, but had a two homer, six-RBI game in 2017. He can play at least five positions.

Not many updates on Rileys injury... injury reports under the new regime have been pretty vague.

AA said he expects him to be back in the next few weeks. Sounds like the whole organization is really high on him. I think they are giving that knee plenty of time to completely heal. I also think that’s the reason his production dropped off. He was trying to play through a injury that wasn’t going away.

He was originally slated for Monday but I think Snit wants to keep him down just a couple more games. I know Grant McAuley said he is expected to be in the lineup sometime this week, so I'd guess Wednesday or Friday.
