The state of the Atlanta Braves?

So lets have a good discussion on this matter. First of all we have locked up some studs and we are moving to a new stadium in a few years.

First of all lets refrain from bashing players and managers in this thread.

I think we all can agree that Uggla is not the answer at 2nd long term.

Is this team a World Series team with Fredi as the manager?

Do we have the talent to win a World Series?

Yes and yes. I don't think a manager makes that big of a difference overall. Talent, on the field, is what determines who wins and who loses. The Braves have the talent to win the division thus they have the talent to win a world series. As long as you make it then it's up to the baseball gods. There is no formula to win in the playoffs. Elite hitting teams have won and lost. Elite pitching teams have won and lost. Small ball teams have won and lost. Get in and hope your lucky enough to have the team play hot at the right time.

I do not think we have the talent to win the World Series. This team hasn't proven it can get past the first round, let alone multiple rounds. They haven't proven that their the best team in the NL, either.

I think its possible for a team to win the Series despite Fredi as manager.

True and the team that wins it normally is the hot team. This team can get hot at any time. It can also go cold at any time.

I'm not sure as currently constructed they can win the WS but the playoffs are a crapshoot so who knows.

I dont think Fredi is why they may not win a WS.
