It's worth mentioning that Riley is 2-2 today with two-RBIs. He was hitting .294 in his last ten before today and has been lacing the ball.

Not likely to have made it anyway, IMO.

Doesn't fill an obvious need, no reason to start his clock.

If albies continues to struggle, might be an opportunity for Riley... Camargo at 2b and Riley at 3b. Doubtful, but could happen... Ozzie's 2nd half ops is .601.

I agree. He seems to get hot this time of year every season

I'm not even sure if it's just a matter of him being hot, I think it just takes him some time to adjust to each new level, then he figures it out and rakes. He obliterated AA to start this year, then dropped back once he was promoted. Now he's raking again.

As a September callup his clock doesn’t start right?

Not his time for ROY clock, but his free agency clock does start I believe, which will present a very interesting dilemma if you want to delay it (he'd probably have to stay down until mid June-early July next year if you do it), but the 40 man situation might keep him from seeing Atlanta anyway.

Think you’re confusing the additional year of FA control with avoidance of Super Two. The former is only a few weeks; the latter requires waiting until sometime in June.

He'd still have to stay down for longer if he does come up this Saturday, I'm not sure how long though...until mid May?

Sure, like Southcack said: a month and a few weeks, instead of just a few weeks. One of several reasons a Riley arrival in 2018 doesn’t seem likely.

Unless you think we can realistically beat the Sox (and after this most improbable season, who knows??- we can dream, right?) you keep Riley down.
