I hate it but I will say it, Riley isn't going to be ready at the start next year. I think the injury sapped some pretty important developmental time for him. I still think he's fine, and likely is a .250/.330-.350/.480-.500 bat, but that probably won't be until the middle of next year.

It's not really a take I just dreamed up, it's something I've been starting to think.

Shocked at the lack of BBs issued at the lower levels.

Well...you may think this post was somewhat negative, but you basically called him a 4-win player by the middle of next year.

I keep expecting Burrows to break through. The results are generally good, but 35 walks in 57 innings this year is painful.

Not really a bad thing. W
He is still young and we should keep him down for control. We know comargo can handle things for a while.

A-Jax quietly adjusting and beginning to hit a little - his average was up to .250 before his last AB. I know everyone loves the framers, but you've gotta wonder a little if the bump to Gwinnett wasn't designed to get a look at him as a potential backup for next season. If you could combine Flowers' and Zook's money (plus a little) to get Grandal or Ramos on a 2-3 year deal, you bridge the gap to Contreras. Zook wasn't looked at as a strong defender at all before he came over, and putting Ramos between Freeman and Markakis would be almost as strong as putting Realmuto there - except you'd get to keep all the prospects he'd cost. I think Fasano has helped both Flow and Zook a lot, and see no reason that he wouldn't be able to help Grandal or Ramos be at least acceptable defensively given how good our pitching could be.
