Today In Braves History: April

April 8th:

1974: Hank Aaron hits his 715th home run, passing Babe Ruth to become the all time home runner king.

1994: Kent Mercker pitches a no-hitter in a 6-0 win over the Dodgers. To date, it’s the last no-hitter pitched by the Braves.
 
April 13th:

1953: The Braves defeat the Reds 2-0 In their first game representing Milwaukee.

1954: Hank Aaron goes 0-5 in his ML debut, a 9-8 Braves loss to the Reds.
 
April 23rd:

1921: Warren Spahn is born in Buffalo, New York.

1954: Hank Aaron hits the first of his 755 home runs.

2013: During a 10-2 win over the Rockies, B.J and Justin Upton hit back to back home runs. They are only the second brothers to homer in consecutive at bats, the first since Lloyd and Paul Waner did so for the Pirates in 1938.
