Trevor Bauer says Astros cheating

I don’t buy it. I think this article does a good job explaining that, while it’s not impossible, it’s also not very parsimonious to assume.

Bauer is a pretty smart dude. I wouldn't immediately dismiss anything he says about pitching.

Verlander went to the Astros August 30 last year. He is probably the best example to look at.

Values from 2017-2018, before and after the trade...

FA: 2536 RPM -> 2603 RPM
SL: 2510 RPM -> 2633 RPM

He added spin rate with the Astros.

Did they immediately teach something to a 35 year old pitcher that he was immediately able to implement?

Or did they have him use something sticky on his fingers?

If they had him use something sticky, does anyone really think they are the only team to know about using sticky stuff?

I thought I saw something on mlb tonight last night that showed they changed his release slightly. He has connected training baseballs that keep his hand in a particular place

Something sticky seems way to easy to catch. Wonder if there could be something put directly on skin that doesn't rub off.

i think verlander was just pouting on a bad team. that's why he wasn't good.

Let's say tomorrow that mlb finds out the Astros were cheating with multiple pitchers... what does mlb do? 1 guy gets a suspension, but a cheating staff would surely get someone fired or draft picks, right?

Verlander becoming unhittable at 35 years old, and Morton throwing 95-96 with an unhittable curve certainly makes you wonder.
