Trump likely to support end of federal ban on marijuana.

Trump said he is likely to support the federal legalization effort despite a warning against it from the coalition of narcotics officer groups.

“We urge you to see through the smoke screen and reject attempts to encourage more drug use in America,” they wrote in a letter to Trump Thursday.

bold added...didn't realize narcotics officers were so fond of puns

This would be a tremendous victory for liberty

Yet again, we can talk about the tweets or the diet coke or Russia... but results on the field remain strong

me right now.

My understanding of the bill at focus here is that it nullifies the federal controlled substances act regarding marijuana in states that have legalized some form of marijuana. That would end the federal ban in mist if the country. The rest will follow like dominoes. They might ban together and wage a legal war but they will lose.

Another route that I think might interest Trump is that the first step to ending the federal ban would be to have the AG declare it needs to be rescheduled or taken off the schedule. Would Sessions resign? If he refuses could Trumo use that as an excuse to fire him? You know he who would be a good AG? Corey Gardner. He hasn't been a Trump zealot so he could possibly get confirmed and not have to recuse himself.

Trump is going to run wild on Democrats in 2020 like Hulk Hogan over the Dungeon of Doom if he follows through on this.

Legalizing marijuana may have a drastic impact towards reducing the countries dependency on opioids. Aside from my selfish reasons for being pro legalization I think it's a no brainer. Remove the black market and you even push some cartel activity out of the US.

The left is doing whatever they can to not talk about results. Rhetoric is the only thing that matters and they are relying on America being stupid.

Accumulation over the years of smoking. Growing is a whole different ball game as opposed to smoking

I’ll happily support the decision, no matter who makes it, but I will believe when I see it. I will also be pissed as a Democrat if they somehow manage to let Donald “Law and Order President” Trump beat them to the punch on this issue.

Oh ****, I had actually not considered this. If Trump is just setting up a scenario in which he can remove Sessions, that would be hilarious.

It’s still funny that he gets press and praise on stories like this

As if he doesn’t just say anything and change his mind the next hour

Which republican is gonna change his mind on it by showing how much money they raise and they make by keeping it illegal?

Right, because he didn't run on states rights on this issue or anything.. Oh wait, he totally did.. Yet another campaign promise headed toward fulfillment. I'm sure your echo-chamber has some phrases of rebuttal swirling around in there. I'll wait.
