Wouldn't be surprised to see Folty limited to a couple IP like a side session and be plugged back into the rotation on Thursday.

If Anderson dominates again it may be his last here if another wants him bad enough. We need Folty to step it up big time.

Lets see if Pfeifer can keep the K train rollin'

A little surprised he and Davidson haven't been considered as pen options yet. Somebody's going to scream 40-Man Roster concerns, but are you really going to let Jerry Blevins or Josh Tomlin stand in the way of improving your pen WITHOUT having to trade any prospects?

Pfeifer is 27 and pitching in A ball for the first time since 2016. It's not hard to figure out why the Ks are up and he suddenly looks good.

Rico making me look like a dick. Should include that kinda note! I refuse to do any of this box score scouting myself!

All the more reason he should be considered as an option for the pen - he's never going to start in the major leagues, he's not bringing you anything back in a trade, and he'd be in the way if promoted to higher levels since you don't have enough innings to go around for your realistic SP prospects.

If he's hot and mowing people down, see if he can help the current team in the pen. He's Rule V eligible and has no options left, so if someone else wants him this winter he's gone anyway.

Don't you think it's at least somewhat suspicious that he hasn't mowed down anyone in upper levels of the minors over the last three years? But then he got demoted to High A at 27 years old and started getting people out?

I was hoping Folty would pitch for the big club tonight to double check if we actually need a starter before the deadline.

Good to see Kadon Morton have a big day -- homer short of the cycle already in the sixth. Been a rough start for him with a lot of Ks.

He's flirting with the Mendoza line at last. Don't know much about him, but if I were to venture a guess, he's got crazy tools that need quite a bit of honing. Another HR for Grissom as well.

Has supposedly had injury issues as well.

I don't think there's any chance he's someone who helps in the late innings, no. Could he be better than Sobotka/Blevins/Tomlin right now? Who knows?

Of course everyone here saw Luke Jackson coming and screamed "don't release him, he's going to become an elite RP" just before his career year, right?

I've consistently said this bullpen sucks for quite some time now and regardless of which metric anyone wants to point out, I'm right when you look at the results. This pen has 17 blown saves - how many more has it avoided by having such a non-existent "clutch offense"? The question I keep asking that no one steps up and answers is "which guy currently in our pen do you trust?" The reason no one answers is because there isn't one.

It may take 3 years, but Morton has those kind of tools, it seems.

Keep in mind that Luke Jackson was a No. 1 draft pick once upon a time. So, yeah, somebody thought he had what it took early on.

Ok Clv...now that's too much. Who the h3ll thought Luke Jackson was an elite bullpen guy?

I thought Pfeifer was a senior when he signed out of Vanderbilt, but he was a red-shirt junior who was a starter at Vanderbilt. He was drafted in the 3rd round, but signed for less than half of the slot value ($222,500 signing bonus/$564,700 slot value), so he was viewed as a "flex" signing to give the Dodgers the ability to try to sign Funkhouser (who ended up not signing). Not saying he won't make it and not saying he couldn't be a starting pitcher, but he won't be on the 40-man over the winter and time is getting tight. I could see him being bumped up to Mississippi for the last couple of weeks depending on if there is any shuffling of guys into Florida from Rome or Danville.
