Rico, you can add this thread to yours if you start one today. But Cumberland just hit ANOTHER homerun and is on absolute fire. Pache also with an RBI single. Maybe I gave up on Cumberland too early. His homer was approx. 477 feet.

If Cumberland, Herbert, and Davidson all keep continuing their recent improvement, that would be yuge

Cumberland's stat line has a lot of red flags, but he may be one of those guys who picked up a lot of bad habits with aluminum bats that need to be worked out of his system. Needs to talk with Chip Caray and get some tips on barreling up. No question he has a ton of power. Could be one of those guys who plays "bat," but it would be nice if he could stick as a catcher. He may be headed to Florida at the end of the first half if this hot streak continues.

It is kinda crazy seeing a guy with a .220-.230 average and a .900+ OPS... still his K-rate is slowing down and his walk rate seems to be increasing. Looks as if he's made some adjustments.

Pache is 2-4. Now hitting .301 on the season.

He is raking. The rankings for Cruz and Pache the year we signed them flip-flopped them with some liking Pache more and others opting for Cruz. Pache has clearly had the better start and I hope he keeps it going.

Pache is legit. Longenhagen had him #10 in our system and said his ceiling is as high as anybody on our farm outside of Maitan.

I would question that a bit, as I think Acuna has a higher ceiling, but Pache's defense, arm, and speed are all better. Still no professional HR.

He was also Longenhagen's first bat off his preseason top 100.

What you think? He's looked at as our best chance to fill 3b? We like Valenzuela better at 2b?

I don't know if the team considers him to be our best chance at internally filling 3rd or not; I think its more likely they just know that SS/2B are going to be filled with Albies/Swanson. Might as well see if TD can handle third.

I'd likely do this as well. If not, he's been cross trained as a SUPER sub.

I will be interested to see any reports about TD's arm being adequate for 3B. Being able to handle the left side of the infield will make him a much more likely MLB utility guy.

Off topic a bit, but the most impressive thing I've seen in a while from a Braves prospect was Camargo's arm. Howitzer out there.

How has another team with a SS injury not offered us something for him? or are we not used him at the MLB level unless they are , gulp, saving his mlb clock? Guy can flat pick it and sling it.

Seems to be having a better year with the bat as well. Looks like your prototypical backup MLB SS to me.

Agree on Comargo. He seems like he would be a very good super sub. He doesn't look lost at the plate either.
