Watch sec baseball for a while and they'll look better

lol.. maybe. But Newk threw a 1-2 curve that split the plate called a ball.. he eventually struck the guy out. The 2-hole hitter fouled off like 30 pitches but eventually grounded out. lazy flyout that almost got miss played to end inning. Newk will have a great day. He is mainly down in zone and his curve is looking good.

We have been discussing Albies recently, and both FG and BP have blurbs saying exactly what I've been saying the last few days.

FG: http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/instagraphs/daily-prospect-notes-517/
Ozzie Albies, SS, Atlanta (Profile)
Level: Triple-A Age: 20 Org Rank: 2 Top 100: 11
Line: 3-for-3, 2 BB, HR

Notes
Albies’ statline at Gwinnett is unspectacular at first glance (he’s hitting .268 with a .315 OBP), but he’s the age of a college sophomore and keeping his head above water at Triple-A — and he got a late start this year while recovering from a fractured elbow. He’s also an impressive 13-of-14 on stolen-base attempts.

Hitter of the Day:

Ozhaino Albies, SS, Atlanta Braves (Triple-A, Gwinnett): 3-3, 3 R, HR, RBI, 2 BB, SB
I know you guys were freaking out a little about Albies to start this season. While he did not get off to a great start, calm your horses. He will play the entire season at Triple-A as a 20-year-old, 6.7 years younger than the average player in the International League. Could he be in the big leagues this season? Sure. But let’s not rush this.

Two perfect innings with two strikeouts for Newcomb. 32 pitches, 21 strikes.

yes, he is on today. everything is hitting his spots or just missing. the offense on the other hand is god awful first trip through. I would love to see a few guys just take 3 strikes so they make Kipper work just a little today.

Bet he's up this year

I could never be a manager. I would be kicking water coolers, throwing bats at people. 29 pitches to get through 4 innings for Kipper. I would seriously be jumping their **** right now. A lot of balls out of the zone for easy ground outs.

Newcomb...

4.0 ip. 1 h 0 er 0 bb!!!!! 4 k

Era = 2.61

If he can keep this up, we should cut collmenter, move colon to long man, and promote Newcomb

I think we'll see Newcomb and Sims after the deadline unless, of course, we are in contention for the post-season. In other words, we'll see Newcomb and Sims after the deadline.
