What is the chance...

I am curious what you all think about the chance that any Braves players gets traded now.

I think AJ is the most likely, however I doubt he gets traded.

Think there is perfectly good chance that AJ, Bourn or another outfielder can be dealt.

Problem with AJ I see is I think he gets claimed and can we reach a deal with the team who claims him?

Then take the bag of baseballs the other team offers for him. He's completely useless for our current roster. Might as well cash in any way we can.

I don't think so, he's probably already cleared. Further, MLBTR: "KC turned down the opportunity to land A.J. Pierzynski from the Braves, Cafardo writes, but they’re still looking for an affordable left-handed hitting backstop."

Trade anybody not in our future plans that makes the team better. So AJ is a must and Gomes too so he won't get hits vs lefties. We need the worst possible team from here on out.

They should trade both, esp. since Garcia hits lefties so well and can play both 3B and LF. So we no longer need Gomes for that role, esp. not with Olivera set to take over at third soon if he can stay healthy. The biggest loss with Gomes is leadership rather than play on the field.

He would be a loss as a pitcher

If they were looking for an effective, affordable LH hitting C, why on earth would they turn Pierczynski down?

Haha, good one.

Seriously though, Gomes should probably be moved but I am not looking forward to it. Gomes has really impressed me with how good a mentor he is to the young players, etc. Peterson said of Gomes recently: "I would go on record saying there’s probably not a better teammate out there than Jonny Gomes." Peterson also credits Gomes more than anyone for helping him this year.
