Rogers to the Braves:

ROGERS TO THE BRAVES: Former Dayton Dragon and Louisville Bat Chad Rogers announced on Twitter he was moving to the Atlanta Braves.

Rogers, a popular player in the organization, became famous for being bitten by a shark while surfing while playing in rookie league his first pro season in 2010. Rogers embraced the story, even adopting the Twitter handle '@SharkRogers' while teammates called him Sharky.

Rogers, who turned 27 yesterday, had been in the Reds minor league system since 2011. He was picked by the Reds in the 28th round of the 2010 draft. He started three games in Louisville this season and appeared in 30 with a 2-4 record and 3.79 ERA.

Didn't we draft a HS pitcher a while back named Chad Rogers? Or something Rogers? Thought to be a good HS pitcher?!? Am I misremembering at 30yo?!?

In 2000, we drafted John Rogers, RHP, in the 13th round. He only played in 14 minor league games before retiring in 2001.

The International League transactions list it as "Louisville" trading him to "Gwinnett". That is nonsense, because players are not property of the minor league teams. The Reds traded him to the Braves, but I have not yet found any kind of announcement or report of it other than his own tweet. Don't know for what.
