Visiting Amsterdam changed my views on a lot
outside of building NYC like Amsterdam
i wish we were more like The Netherlands.
glad they are out educating the public about this tainted drug and trying to help people
it isn't actually about cocaine. it's about white heroin. tourists are buying what they think is cocaine from a dealer. the bad thing is that the drug is white heroin instead of blow
the scary thing is that white heroin is a lot more expensive than cocaine and the dealer who has been selling the white heroin is selling it at cocaine prices
which makes authorities believe he might be a killer trying to kill tourists

I think the idea is that why would you buy it if you didn't know who was selling it to you.

Fair point but typically your dealer would know what the product is based on his own sampling or his clients.
In Amsterdam it's safe to purchase, cheap, and generally of decent quality.
The better question is why would you be stupid enough to buy cocaine in the United States? or England? Or any other place in the world for that matter.
I mean I love snorting baby powder cut with adderall and risking my asshole in a prison as much as the next guy, but come on!

Possession is 'legal' in the sense that it is unenforced, but yeah, you are right.
Also, you can buy synthetic amphetamines in stores in Amsterdam (only, not the whole of The Netherlands) that will essentially produce the same effects. Legally.
Safe from an over-zealous law enforcement community and judicial system.

I read earlier that one theory is that the dealer is unaware that he's actually moving white heroin and thinks it's cocaine. Perhaps because he stole it. White heroin is extremely expensive, so that's basically the only other alternative to the killer theory.
