Yes or No? I say he’ll get to 40 homers but the stolen bases is where it gets dicey. He has to get on a hot streak and get on base more but I think he’ll get to it barely.
 
I think he'll get there. Once we have the division locked up I think that he is going to be running on any reasonable chance that he gets. He'll definitely get there in homers.
 
6 SBs isn't super significant. He could easily get 3-4 in the next week. Hell, he had 7 stolen bases in a 5 game span back in July.
 
Didnt bonds have like 10 steals in his last 15?

Braves will make sure he gets the steals.
 
Am I the only one who didn’t realize that Donaldson is leading the team in WAR now at 5.7? He might reach 6 WAR this year. MVP candidate.

I saw that. He’s gonna have a ton of suitors in the offseason I’m afraid. Hopefully he likes it here.
 
Someone not able to sign Rendon is going to give JD an immediately regrettable contract. Talks in MLBTR's last chat were suggesting upwards of $90M over 4 years.

Luckily for everyone who cares about the Braves, it almost certainly won't be AA.

where do the Braves turn in that scenario? losing JD's production would be a huge blow.

there is Moose on the FA market

guys like Escobar potentially on the trade market

or we could upgrade at another position...I don't think we can sign both Grandal and Donaldson...so no Donaldson might mean we sign Grandal
 
Losing Donaldson would be a huge blow. Freddie finally has protection in the lineup and you see what’s happening. Signing Grandal and trading for say Starling Marte would be a way to upgrade the offense but at the end of the day I think we resign JD.

Unload the farm for Chapman. Hopefully the A's value Riley pretty highly to help keep down the prospect cost.

That’s what I was saying a few weeks ago. I don’t expect Donaldson to be a Brave next year.
