Wright, Wilson, Touks coming up..

Lane Adams, Bryse Wilson, Kyle Wright, Touki Toussaint, Rene Rivera, Michael Reed among Braves' adds.

Bowman reports ---

Braves manager Brian Snitker said he expects four players to be added on Saturday and a handful of others by the time Triple-A Gwinnett's season concludes Monday. There is not a need to immediately add Toussaint, who will likely serve as Atlanta's sixth starter throughout the season's final month.

Right-handed reliever Shane Carle; Rene Rivera, who was recently acquired to serve as a third catcher; and infielder Ryan Flaherty, who stayed within Atlanta's organization after being designated for assignment last week, are expected to be among the first wave of additions. This group could also include Bryse Wilson, another highly-touted prospect who could be used as a reliever, and Lane Adams, who would be used primarily as a pinch-runner.

Will be fascinating to see if Snit trusts the young guys enough to throw them in big spots out of the pen.Wright and Wilson could be yuge for us if they are given a chance.

I expect to see Neck get hot again

I'm not at all worried about Touki but I'm also excited to see the other two. Either way, these moves make this team way deeper.

Who did we remove to add both Adams and Wright? Oh I see now, Viz to the 60 day DL. Just a paper move to give more time. Welcome back Adams and welcome to MLB Wright. Hope the kid does great.

He's nothing special, but I've always liked Adams.

He is very good at stealing bases, good pinch runner in a tight game. Plus he has did great pinch hitting for us in the past, he even still had an OPS right around. .800 when he was last let go. So hopefully he still has some pinch hits in him too.

This is gonna be a big boost to the pen and staff as a whole IMO.

Most teams will be bringing up AAA fodder to help, and we are bringing up studs (we hope)

I would guess whenever a slow runner (Duda or one of the catchers) gets on late in a close game we will see Adams or Reed pinch run.

I would also think Duda is pretty much guaranteed a pinch hitting appearance every game. The exceptions would be when a lefty pitcher is out there every time a pinch hitting opportunity comes up.

Wilson and Touks not unexpected. Wright getting the call is big news.

Wasn't exactly a surprise to some of us that mentioned it was likely going to happen over a week earlier, but certainly glad to see him up - now Snitker needs to get him in a game, and soon.

Touki starting Monday.

Would have flipped him and Teheran. Given him Pittsburgh on four days rest and Teheran the Red Sox on five. I would also have Folty and Gausman pitch on regular rest the rest of the way. They are our best pitchers and seem to do fine on regular rest. In a pennant race you lean hard on your best in-form players.

I figured Touki would start but I think him being brought right back and thrown in the fire immediately with the Red Sox is a mistake. It could of course go well since there's little information on him but I'd rather he have had a softer landing before getting tougher teams.

I figure it's being nice to Julio I guess and letting him start against a team he was preparing for all along, but he'd understand and probably appreciate getting pushed back.

Promoting Wright for the pen seems like it’s an odd move.

Are there plans for him to make a spot start sometime?

Didn’t have to add him to the 40 man and I’m not sure another RH bullpen option that can’t really be trusted was a helpful add.
