It was clear the Braves weren't going to win anything last year by the middle of the season. Thats what I saw. It was impossible to watch IMO. We will see where this season goes. I don't expect to make the playoffs obviously but I will be interested in seeing if the different approach to team building yields better than expected results.

Reality sucks, but the Braves had the 14th highest payroll in 2014 and were 18th in attendance last season (AND have $28 million in dead money on the books for 2015 and $33.1 million in dead money owed to B. J. in 2016 and 2017).
Not much of a businessman if you "invest" in that for very long, sorry.
Could I interest you in investing in the mortgage market???
Has there EVER been a statement and question a certain someone should absolutely never have made and asked publicly more than...
Kinda pathetic to see yourself as a message board knight in shining armor. How impotent does someone have to be in real life to resort to playing hero on a message board?
Strasburg, Zimmermann, Fister, Gio
Harvey, deGrom, Wheeler, Niese
Verlander, Scherzer, Sanchez, Price
Kluber, Carrasco, Salazar, Bauer
Kershaw, Greinke, whoever
Just off the top of my head
P.S., chances of Teheran and Wood both being top 20 pitchers are slim. Both outpitched their FIP by a significant margin last year and lost a great OF defender and downgrade from Upton to Gattis in LF.

Its funny how giles hypes up Nats players but always downplays some players on the Braves when we say good things about them.
But he isnt a Nats fan.
That doesn't mean they will be top 20. They have solid peripherals, but accounting for the decline in defense in 2014 and the predictive nature of other statistics, it's likely wishful thinking that both will be able to perform as top 20 starters.
Here are the Steamer predictions for both; just as a guide:
Teheran 3.80 ERA, 4.10 FIP.
Wood 3.60 ERA, 3.50 FIP

I gave you ERA+ as well. I think a pitcher with 2 consecutive years with an ERA right around 3.00 and ERA+ around 121 is pretty likely to repeat those numbers. Especially a pitcher as talented as JT is.
You said they weren't going to finish top 20. Well they have certainly been top 20 over the last seasons. But I guess since FIP says so it must be true.....
