Virtue signaling is a common theme
Genuine question: who the **** cares? If I believe in the cause they’re claiming to care about, and that action helps the cause I believe in, why concern myself with whether their intentions are pure? I’m not trying to make Disney the arbiter of American values. I just have a set of beliefs, and in this case Disney claims to be supporting those beliefs. As long as people don’t lose sight of the fact that Disney is a giant corporation and not some heroic group of crusaders fighting abortion restrictions, why not take the news favorably if that’s the side you’re on?

This is actually a fair question. I’ve long felt like I don’t align with my cohorts on specific economic policies like trade and minimum wage, as I don’t think some of the policies proposed actually extend any additional benefits to those they are trying to help. However, for those who think differently, opposition to tariffs has confused me.
cause maybe the left isn't the outright socialist/communist loving and capitalist hating group you think they are? and maybe want a more western version of democratic socialism seen in europetariffs are something socialist vocally support so not sure why the left isn't celebrating
but you know
that would mean your whole narrative would be false so, doubt you get to that conclusion

equating wanting taxes raised on rich folks to tariffs that will be paid by common folk is the type of dishonesty i expect from "freedom" and "non fake" news boy
ok, but one would have to agree with everything bernie says for this to be trueOr people have a fear of giving the appearance they agree with Trump on anything? Bernie Sanders and Trump are not far apart on trade at all
and i have news for ya on that front

again, not the same game as tariffs
but i thought you would know that
but it doesn't work well to equate the taxes as different
but i digress

Tariffs, like taxes, impact behavior. There will be less imports from mexico over time which will be a detriment to Mexico. There are other supply chains now that are either at the same price or cheaper after a tariff. That isnt the case for all goods but it will be for some.
When the mexican elites are making less money there will be more pressure on the government to make decisions to protect their interests.
In addition, its not mexican citizens that are pressing the border limits currently. These tariffs are to get Mexico to police their southern border. A very reasonable request to protect america.
That's just crazy. It's a tax on Americans.
Not to mention, companies who moved their supply chain from China to Mexico in response to the China tariffs have got to be fed up.
I'm against all the tariffs, but at least with China there's some IP mission behind it... this is just stupid from a President who clearly doesn't understand how tariffs work
