for the uninitiated
Justin and I can take some consolation I suppose in the saying that imitation is the most sincere form of flattery
"I am a victim, I will tell you. I am a victim."
"I am your retribution."
which instruction did Breonna Taylor not comply with
or Botham Jean
"I am a victim, I will tell you. I am a victim."
"I am your retribution."
Amash has surprised me with his Lincoln Project-lite act of primarily calling out the right side of the spectrum lately. He's always been essentially opposite of me on most issues, but I did respect him until recently.
Fortunately his combination of Laissez-faire economics and a social policy of do whatever makes you feel good, while being opposed to a social safety net, occupies an irrelevant corner of the ideological map today.

I guess you missed where her boyfriend shot first by eyewitness accounts but I don’t expect you to care about those facts.
Either way, I never implied the number would be zero. We have this poisonous narrative that police are the problem when the overwhelming majority of tragic deaths immediately follow the suspect not complying with police.
Do you disagree with that statement?
Amash is a good principled guy but he did get a minor case of TDS which has altered his strategy of being effective

Oh I didn't realize your question was a rhetorical question. My bad.
I would say there is an enormous difference in the details of these high profile cases. I would not lump them all together. What happened to George Floyd was very different from what happened to that kid in Ferguson, Missouri.
We've had a similar discussion in other threads where sadly there was not a meeting of the minds. But I'll briefly restate what I think the data show. First the data do not show that police are gunning down blacks disproportionately. Second they do show lots of other types of differential treatment, for example likelihood of being tazed or cuffed or talked to in a disrespectful way. None of this should be a surprise. Police reflect society. They are no better or worse than society as far as racism goes. There are police who are racist and there are police who aren't. With a wide spectrum of how the racism gets expressed. Just like in society. I think what makes police a bit different is they are public employees. With that comes some scrutiny that doesn't apply to professions in the private sector.

The Treasury Department’s statement on Thursday suggests that Manafort did ultimately transfer Trump campaign polling data to Russian intelligence.

Fortunately that relationship was DOA early enough where no children were involved.
then you never attended PTA or parent teacher conferences or arranged for day care or had to be at work after staying up until 3 AM dealing with a sick child, called and had to leave work because your child became sick at school or maternity leave ?
Or met teachers or was asked to participate in school activities?
All the same you like sturg have a lot of opinions on schools and raising children
I have opinions on race cars too, but Formula 1 ...
what's the use

I’d love to understand the relevance of what you just wrote to anything that was said in this thread.
shot in the dark, but pretty sure Michael Brown and George Floyd and their families / friends / followers would just as soon they not be viewed as martyrs.
