Why do we suppose congress and the white house staff are exempted from this tyrant's mandates?
don't know about white house staff (which I suspect is already 100% vaccinated) but separation of powers doctrine prevents the executive branch from implanting a chip into members of the legislative and judiciary branches
i also suspect that credibly accused creepy joe is hoping a few of the more vaccine hesitant members will kick the bucket

Lol ok
... But why specifically exempt them?
The wife and I had COVID back in January, most of the symptoms over in a couple of weeks though I still have trouble sometimes with breathing and/or lack of energy. Not bad considering how it hit some people.
We both had the Moderna shots, one in mid-May and the other in Mid-June. Still wear masks when we're in certain highly populated stores or other crowded venues (for around here anyway).
I don't understand people who think the masks and the shots do no good, just like I don't understand those who think the shots and masks and social distancing are the be all and end all of everything. It seems to me that if a person can do something that really isn't that big of an imposition that even MIGHT save a life, why in the eff wouldn't they?
Perhaps you guys could educate poor old DUMAS teacher.

I am not vaccinated. Dont plan to either. As far as the federal government is concerned I am a criminal who needs to be locked up for societies safety. I am not going to go out and hurt people but I also am not going to take any steps to help protect others. Remember, I am a dangerous criminal..... according to the gubment. This is the only form of protest I have against society.

I find it odd people make this about the government.

An Alabama man who was having a cardiac emergency died after 43 hospitals with full intensive care units turned him away because they were all inundated with unvaccinated COVID patients.
We have friends awaiting surgeries that are being delayed for lack of hospital space
That is plural not a mistype

This is where I'm at. I had Covid last thanksgiving, got vaccinated in April, and I still mask up in indoor spaces around others. I don't know if the mask does anything at all or how much of a benefit vaccination on top of natural immuny gives but they're such small impositions on me that even the chance of benefit makes the choice rational.
It's my personal choice based on a cost/benefit analysis and I honestly don't understand how others reach a different conclusion. The cost is just so insanely low.
I'm in masked and vaccinated camp that thinks no one should be forced to do either, and can't understand why anyone wouldn't do both voluntarily.

I keep coming back to the parable of the city at war, with enemy planes dropping bombs every night.
Everyone is asked to turn out the lights at night to avoid helping the bombers.
It should be voluntary.
But if some of the citizens decline, the rest are entitled to turn off power to their homes (and adopt other measures they deem necessary).

Once young kids can be vaccinated it won't bother me. Those who don't take precautions will only be risking themselves. In the meantime it sucks for kids.

I'm 100% supportive of the right to suicide by covid. But I don't want the rest of us to foot the medical bills and associated expenses (such as disability) of those who make that choice. If after getting sick they change their mind and want to live, they ought to pay out of pocket for the medical and other expenses associated with their choice.
