Race

I was hoping you would enlighten us about how you have to come to "know" so much about the thangs you expound upon with such confidence.

Scenario 1: government requires you to prove you are who you say you are, as only legal citizens are allowed to vote once... in order to prove that, they require you show a government-issued ID

Scenario 2: walmart requires you to prove who you say you are so they give the right groceries to the person who actually purchased them... in order to prove that, they require you show a government issued ID

As far as I understand, leftists would say Scenario 1 is racist (JIM CROW!), and Scenario 2 is fine... so please help me understand the distinction

Eh. The same action in one context can be completely different in its effects in another. How hard can that be to understand?

Anyhow, I (and almost everyone concerned about acts of voter suppression) am much less concerned about ID's (which are easy to obtain and do not appear to have a differential effect by race) than other measures. Fortunately, Georgia dropped changes to Sunday voting that would have had a differential impact by race from its bill of a few years ago.

What goes unremarked about that is that Georgia had a perfectly good voting system before this so-called reform. The bill was passed entirely on the basis of trying to mollify the delicate ego of one man who lacked the emotional maturity to accept the fact that the voters had fired his sorry ass.

Cool, then I'm sure you're happy to post that requiring an ID to vote is not racist at all?

eh...if it makes you happy i ok with acknowledging that requiring an id can be a legitimate election security measure

voting should be both easy and secure...except when people choose to make a political football of thangs there really is not a conflict between the two

we've been running elections for a long time without the sort of paranoia and deza spawned by the Big Lie

all cuz some dude with a delicate ego could not accept having his sorry ass fired...what is even more sad is the legion of enablers complicit in massaging that delicate ego and the damage they have done to the country as a result...the only consolation is when they end up having to pay a price (as well they should) for their actions

How do you secure it without an ID?

How do you secure it without an ID?

we've been doing it for a long time

the states generally do a good job

if they want voter id i'm fine with it...i'm fine with signature verification too

i'm sure there is voter fraud and mistakes on a small scale in every election...but by and large it works pretty well...doesn't mean it can't be improved

but the larger point is that there is no reason to doubt the validity of the outcome of the 2020 presidential election or various races in Arizona in 2022...but certain folks have found their niche in trafficking in deza and paranoia...god bless them...we all have to put food on the table somehow

Glad to hear you're on board with voter ID.

A few posts ago you were saying it is racist in some cotnexts.. appears you've evolved quickly and that's good.

I remember when the ASG was stolen from ATL that the compassionate left decried that black people can't afford the free ID... they can't take off work and they can't afford the transportation to the DMV to get it. That was an enscheff special.

Nothing more racist than a leftist

Why were you so concerned with mail in balloting prior to the 2020 election?

Why were you so concerned with mail in balloting prior to the 2020 election?

Mail ballot is less secure than in person voting. However, lots of Americans like to vote that way. It is convenient. And still secure enough as far as I'm concerned. The goals are to make voting easy and secure. We shouldn't skew so far in one direction so as to jeopardize the other goal. We already have relatively low voter participation. Why depress it further by taking away an option that many voters have gotten used to and have used over many elections in many states.

If there were actual for real evidence of significant voter fraud involving voting by mail I'd reconsider. But alas there is no such evidence. This falls under the category of trying to fix something that aint broken.

Ah - Real evidence.

Can you describe to me how one would identify if voter fraud existed in the mail in ballot system?
