When Anthopoulos took over, he swore he wasn't going to follow the same pattern he did in Toronto where he emptied the farm for major league players. If the trade for Cease would include Schwellenbach, Smith-Shawver, and Grissom, it sure like Toronto redux to me.

At this point I wouldn't consider that package emptying the farm. We already emptied it to the major league club.

It would be the thin getting thinner. The continuing downside is that there is no depth in the upper minors outside of Grissom if one of the principals (Olson, Riley, Acuna) goes down for an extended time or if Arcia turns out to be a mirage. Only Grissom moving on would be a blow to the position player depth problem. There are enough--but not too much--pitching depth to make a deal like this work.

You want to sign Hoskins to be the weak side of a LF platoon despite his horrid OF defense, share PAs with another RHH in Ozuna at DH, and share PAs with Olson who plays every single day?

He is one of the worst fits for the current roster anyone has mentioned this year.

Not a bad offer at all. Let’s be honest, Schwellenbach has little to no value at the moment. Doesn’t strike anyone out at all. Grissom has less value than Braves fans want to admit and AJSS is the real get who still has questions

Except Grissom is a borderline player at best who you're all desperate to trade and only has real value as a trade asset, Scwellenback is a position player turned reliever transitioning to a starter whose already been injured and likely will never be anything. Probably one decent piece in the trade is necessary if you want to play.
 
If that’s the deal for Cease that would get it done, it should get done yesterday. I like AJSS a lot but those other pieces are fungible. Grissom I suppose isn’t but he has no place in atlanta.
 
I like AJSS alot but if the package is him, Shwellenbach, and Grissom then he needs to pull the trigger immediately.
 
I think Cease will be moved pretty quick after Yamamoto signs. Yamamoto should have signed already. This has become another Ohtani situation.

I’m torn about it. I think these players deserve to do it on their time, also, just make a damn decision. You’ll get $200M+ regardless. Don’t make it too complicated
